[Host Recommendation] The Grand 2026 Lunar New Year Parade in Paris: A Guide to the Year of the Fire Horse!
Dear Guests,

Welcome to the City of Light! If you are lucky enough to be staying at Studio Paris 16 between February and March 2026, you are in for a cultural treat. While Paris is known for its Haussmannian elegance, it also hosts one of the most vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations in Europe.

Although the official Lunar New Year begins on February 17th, the capital’s largest and most famous event—the 13th Arrondissement Grand Parade—is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026.

As your host, I’ve put together this exclusive guide to help you experience this explosion of color and tradition like a local.

I. 2026: The Energy of the "Fire Horse"
2026 marks the Year of the Horse, specifically the Fire Horse. In Chinese culture, the Horse represents energy, freedom, and momentum. Expect this year’s parade to be more dynamic than ever, featuring traditional lion and dragon dances, creative floats, and performers embodying the "vital spark" of this powerful zodiac sign.

II. Essential Parade Info
Date & Time: Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Route:

Departure: 44 avenue d’Ivry.

Path: The procession moves toward the intersection of Rue Tolbiac and Avenue de Choisy.

The Loop: It continues up Avenue de Choisy, turns at Boulevard Masséna, and returns to Avenue d’Ivry.

What to See: Look out for the stunning traditional costumes and the "Tropical Carnival" delegations. For over a decade, the Asian community has invited Caribbean groups to join the parade, creating a unique fusion of cultures that you can only find in Paris.

III. Local Tips from Your Host
Arrive Early: This event attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators. To get the best photos of the dragon dancers, try to find a spot along Avenue de Choisy at least 45 minutes before the start.

Post-Parade Dining: The 13th district is the heart of Asian cuisine in Paris. After the parade, I highly recommend warming up with a bowl of authentic Phô or some dim sum at the nearby restaurants.

Getting There from Studio Paris 16: Getting to the festivities is easy! Take Metro Line 6 directly from our neighborhood to Place d'Italie. It’s a scenic ride that crosses the Seine with a view of the Eiffel Tower!

Why Stay at Studio Paris 16?
